Board Member Opportunities

The International Foundation for Integrated Care (IFIC) is seeking to appoint a number of new Board members.

Our mission, as the leading international voice in integrated care, is to inspire, influence and facilitate the adoption of integrated care in policy and practice around the world. We do so by advancing science; promoting and sharing knowledge; and supporting the implementation and adoption of integrated care in policy and practice. We see ourselves as leading a global movement for change in how health and social care is delivered and experienced.

The IFIC Board is responsible for governance of the Foundation in line with its status as a stichting under Dutch law. Several Board members’ terms will be coming to an end later this year and applications are now sought from individuals who wish to guide and support IFIC though the next stage of its development.

In keeping with IFIC’s global scope and its core values of equity, diversity and inclusion we are open to candidates from a wide variety of backgrounds and nationalities although previous governance experience would be viewed favourably. We would be particularly interested in hearing from candidates who have a background in financial management, law (especially EU law) and/or income generation for non-governmental organisations. Applicants who have knowledge or lived experience of integrated care, which may be from the perspective of a health or care professional, a service user or an informal caregiver would also be welcomed.

The Board meets quarterly and, in view of its international membership, does so virtually. Members may also be invited to serve on a Board committee and, if appropriate, have opportunities to contribute to projects and other initiatives being undertaken by IFIC staff and associates. Board members are appointed to serve in a voluntary capacity for a three year term and are not remunerated.

Interested candidates are encouraged to familiarise themselves with IFIC and its work via Foundation’s website ( where the Annual Report and Strategic Plan are also available.

Your application should comprise a CV together with a brief covering letter outlining why you are interested in joining the Board and how your skills and experience could contribute to the ongoing success of IFIC. Applications should be sent via email to Ms Georgina Ferrer at to arrive no later than 24.00 Central European time on Friday, 20 May 2022

Should you wish to discuss this opportunity with a current Board member before applying, please contact in the first instance Ms Georgina Ferrer who will make the required arrangements. She can be reached via email (as above) or by ‘phone (during UK office hours) on +44 7455 723372.

Senior Associate

Our network of associates

The Foundation has long relied on support from a small and hugely dedicated group of international experts in integrated care. Our Senior Associates support our education and research work as members of the Integrated Care Academy faculty and as subject matter experts for our Integrated Care Solutions projects. They also support our conferences by chairing sessions and workshops during conferences. Our Senior Associates are also our trusted critical friends as we deliver our vision.

Our associates tend to work either full or part time in substantive roles and participating as an associate with IFIC complements these roles.

Widening our network

As our work has grown and the scope of integrated care extended, we know that we need to increase the number of Senior Associates who are recognised experts in the field of integrated care that we can call on. We are particularly interested in experts with experience in:

  • Integrated care for children and young people
  • Integrated cancer care
  • Integrated care for vulnerable and under-served populations
  • Health economic and quantitative evaluation of the impact of integrated care
  • Digitally enabled integrated care
  • Measuring what matters in integrated care.

If you think you have expertise to offer the Foundation and are as committed as we are to the goals of the Foundation (read our current strategy here), we would love to hear from you.

Senior Associate roles are not remunerated. However, where we involve Senior Associates in work that the Foundation is paid for, a separate agreement for remuneration is put in place.

Please send a short CV and cover letter to
