IFIC’s first Online Certificate in Integrated Care goes live in 2021

The International Foundation for Integrated Care’s move into digital education came about from years of delivering successful Summer Schools and Accelerated Learning Programmes in Europe and Winter Schools in the Asia Pacific region. Covid19 restrictions meant that our normal timetable of Summer Schools and Accelerated Learning Programmes were to be put on hold for the near future and IFIC’s anticipated move into digital and online learning was implemented! We are so pleased to introduce the Online Certificate in Integrated Care. A comprehensive 30 hour course which follows the 9 pillars of Integrated Care as documented in IFIC’s recently written report Realising the True Value of Integrated Care: Beyond COVID-19 Thought Leadership Report.

From the advice of our Knowledge Partners it was recognised that there was a real gap in the education sector for an introductory level course, which was accessible both in entry requirements and price. We often talk of the barriers to the uptake of Integrated Care and so this course has proudly been designed as an introduction to the subject and is accessible to all those with an interest in integrated care principles, but will be particularly relevant to those working within healthcare, social care, community and other public service design or delivery from public, private and third/voluntary sectors, emerging researchers and students in associated subject areas, patients or caregivers and agency, government employees and policy makers. Ensuring we are keeping to our mission to create innovative, interactive learning environments for people to access education that is excellent, affordable and attainable to create better outcomes for person-centred and integrated care. We have envisaged a student journey where people can begin their journey with us and continue through to our future courses, attend our face-to-face schools (Covid19 restrictions allowing) or our partner institution Postgraduate courses.

IFIC called upon its wealth of knowledge and incredible networks throughout its hubs in IFIC Australia, IFIC Canada, IFIC Ireland and IFIC Scotland. Along with friends of IFIC and knowledge partners from The Cummings Graduate Institute, University of Utrecht, University of the West of Scotland and Munster Technological University in not only as acting as a sounding board and in an advisory role, but hands-on, sleeves rolled-up course development, module and curriculum writing and learning objectives. We have said it before and we will say it again, The International Foundation for Integrated Care is only as strong as its network, this outstanding Online Certificate in Integrated Care written by the experts at the forefront of their field from a worldwide perspective is a testament to both the hard work of our network and to the global Movement for Change for better outcomes for people-centred and integrated care.
