“Global Challenges in Assistive Technology” – Over 200 scientific contributions in 5 parallel tracks over 2.5 days
AAATE 2019 conference, Bologna, Italy, 27-30 August 2019
In the preparation for the AAATE 2019 Conference: Call for papers closed with the submission of over 200 scientific contributions covering a wide range of topics around assistive technology. The abstracts are currently being reviewed by our scientific committee composed of assistive technology experts from 36 countries.
The AAATE 2019 Conference also hosts a number of Special Thematic Sessions that explore topics such as
- challenges and open issues in indoor and outdoor accessible mobility
- employing MOOCs and Open Educational Resources (OERs) in teaching digital accessibility
- AI and inclusion
- Play, Children with Disabilities, and Robotics. State of the Art and New Developments
- Robotics and Virtual Worlds for wheelchair users – from ideas to reality: Innovation, Training, and Roadmap to Market (The ADAPT project)

While the call for scientific contributions has closed, there are still a number of ways, you can get involved:
Educational Sessions
Educational sessions aim at the acquisition of applicable skills in professional life. Educational sessions are highly interactive events lasting 60 minutes, or exceptionally 90 minutes. If you have a skill or expert knowledge you would like to share and teach, sign up for an educational session.
