ICIC27 Tallinn, Estonia – 10-12 May 2027

International Conference on Integrated Care

The International Conference on Integrated Care (ICIC27) in partnership with The International Journal of Integrated Care (IJIC) and the Ministry of Social Affairs of Estonia will take place in the Alexela Kontserdimaja on 10-12 May 2027. The conference will bring together leaders, researchers, clinicians, managers, community representatives, patients and caregivers from around the world who are engaged in the design and delivery of integrated health and care.

ICIC27 will explore how integrated care can move from ambition and structural reform towards measurable impact for people, communities and systems. As health and care services face growing demand, workforce pressure, financial constraint and widening inequalities, the need to demonstrate the value of integrated approaches has never been greater.

The conference theme, From Integration to Impact - Delivering better outcomes through data, coordination and population health, invites participants to examine how better data, stronger coordination, digital innovation and population health approaches can support more proactive, equitable and sustainable care. Across the programme, ICIC27 will focus on how integrated care can improve outcomes, strengthen resilience and create better value across health, social care, public health and community systems.

Abstract Submission

We invite researchers, practitioners, policymakers, community partners and people with lived experience from around the world to share their work and help shape the programme for the International Conference on Integrated Care (ICIC27) in Tallinn, Estonia, 10–12 May 2027.

Abstracts will be blind peer reviewed, with accepted submissions published in the International Journal of Integrated Care (IJIC) conference supplement.

Scientific Committee

The International Scientific Committee (ISC) brings together researchers, practitioners, clinicians, policymakers, community representatives and people with lived experience from across the integrated care community.

Reflecting our democratic approach to knowledge, the Committee values expertise from research, professional practice, communities and people’s direct experiences of care. With strong representation from Estonia, the Baltic region and the wider international community, members help ensure the programme is relevant, inclusive and scientifically robust.

The ISC peer reviews abstracts, advises on emerging priorities and gaps, and helps extend the reach of the conference through its international networks.

Scientific Committee

Organising Committee

The Organising Committee brings together IFIC and key Estonian partner organisations to shape and support the conference. It combines IFIC’s international experience in integrated care with local knowledge of Estonia’s health and care system, priorities, networks and areas of innovation.

Members contribute expertise from health and care services, policy, research, education and system development. They help ensure the conference is relevant to the Estonian context, advise on themes and programme content, strengthen local and regional engagement, and connect the conference with important organisations and networks.

Together, the Committee ensures the conference is shaped with Estonia, not simply hosted there.

Patients Included

ICIC27 is co-designed with patients and caregivers and achieves Patients Included designation. Special consideration is given to papers that demonstrate active people involvement and engagement in either or all of design, implementation and evaluation. Patient and Caregivers attend the conference for free, but we cannot cover accommodation and travel costs. We encourage papers from patient and caregivers, but also suggest that health and care researchers and practitioners should encourage patient and caregiver partners to co-present where appropriate and fund travel and accommodation costs if possible.
