From Reform to Impact
Integrated Care in Estonia and the ICIC27 Call for Papers
This webinar explored Estonia's ambitious health and social care reforms, offering insights into the opportunities and challenges of moving towards more coordinated, proactive and person-centred integrated care.
Anneli Taal from Estonia's Ministry of Social Affairs outlined the country's approach to strengthening integration across health and social care, including regional coordination, shared wellbeing plans, investment in primary care and changes to governance and financing. Drawing on experiences from Finland, Timo Sinervo reflected on the importance of shared goals, clear responsibilities, effective information sharing and collaboration across professional and organisational boundaries.
Facilitated by Fiona Lyne, the discussion explored the practical challenges of implementing system-wide reform, including leadership, accountability, digital infrastructure and measuring progress. Contributions from participants across Europe and beyond highlighted the relevance of Estonia's experience to other health and care systems navigating similar challenges.
The webinar also introduced the International Conference on Integrated Care (ICIC27), taking place in Tallinn, Estonia, and provided an opportunity to learn more about the conference and its Call for Papers.
