Monica joined IFIC in September 2018 as a Senior Researcher and will work on the European project TransForm, as well as the annual International Summer School for Integrated Care (ISSIC) and ICIC conferences.
Monica is a part-time PhD candidate and also works part time for the Norwegian Directorate of Health as a Senior Advisor. Her research involves the implementation of multi-professional teams in general practice and the transition to more person-centred primary care services.
Monica previously worked as a project manager for the National Clinical Guidelines for diabetes and gestational diabetes in Norway and developed a digital solution for the national clinical recommendations. Monica was a task leader for the European funded Joint Action on Chronic Diseases (CHRODIS), where her responsibilities included collating and presenting best practices for health promotion in diabetes management.
She has also worked as a research manager and coach at a rehabilitation centre, where she developed and ran rehabilitation courses for patients with cancer, heart disease and mental illness.
Monica has studied and undertaken research in Spain, USA, Denmark, Sweden and Norway.
