Welcome to IFIC Australia
IFIC Australia is an independent and inclusive network dedicated to inspiring, influencing and advancing integrated care in policy and practice across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. Established in 2015, it provides a platform for collaboration, knowledge exchange and practical action aligned with the International Foundation for Integrated Care’s global mission.
In 2026, IFIC Australia is partnering with the Centre for Healthcare Knowledge & Innovation (CHKI) and University of Sydney’s Leeder Centre for Health Policy, Economics and Data to deliver a joint program of work focused on system sense-making, leadership capability and practical integrated care reform. This program is proudly hosted by Healthy North Coast in partnership with IFIC. Together, the collaboration brings global integrated care expertise into dialogue with national and regional system leadership, creating structured opportunities for health and social care leaders to step back from operational pressures and examine how funding, governance and service design shape everyday outcomes.
A centrepiece of the 2026 program is Pathways to Reform, a five-day intensive bringing health-system leaders from Denmark, South Korea, Aotearoa New Zealand and the UK together with Australian senior executives and researchers to explore global reform and its practical application in Australian contexts. Expressions of interest for attending are now open.
IFIC Australia’s governance includes an Executive Committee comprising representatives from its host organisations, along with Patrons of the 2026 program of work. A Partnership Committee supports the development of the annual program and facilitates national and international collaboration. Previously, IFIC Australia was supported through funding from the NHMRC Centre for Research Excellence on Health and Social Care Integration (CREHSCI) and coordinated through a multi-institution partnership including IFIC, the University of Sydney, Sydney Local Health District and the Central Coast Research Institute for Integrated Care.
