Over each of the last 8 years, IFIC has been a consortium partner for many EU-funded project with most focusing on older people living with complex health and/ or social care needs. Many of our projects have examined how ICT can enable the delivery of care services and provide better outcomes and experiences for patients, service users and their families.
During 2020, the IFIC team was leading work packages and tasks in 5 EU-funded projects. Of these, DigitalHealthEurope and PROCare4Life had successful mid-term reviews and the EURIPHI project (EURopean wide Innovative Procurement of Health Innovation) had its final external review. We were delighted to receive the review report and closure statement from the European Commission as we closed the office for the Christmas break. The external reviewers commented that “…the project had delivered exceptional results with significant immediate or potential impact … EURIPHI consortium represents an excellent mix of expertise and competences, which has enabled the project to achieve positive results and produce interesting documentation”. IFIC lead the integrated care arm of the project and you can find out more here.
During 2020, IFIC was invited to join many consortia developing proposals in response to a wide range of Horizon 2020 and other EU programme calls and we were delighted to have 6 proposals accepted for funding and we want to extend our thanks to all those partner organisational representatives who worked so hard in getting all the proposals submitted. As has been the evolution in the breadth of our international conferences now covering population groups across the whole life-course, the new projects will enable the IFIC team to enhance their knowledge, skills and experience in applying the concept of integrated care to new vulnerable populations, children and young people, those living at risk of or with a cancer diagnosis as well as the traditional chronic conditions and multimorbidity.
During the proposal period and with the new projects, we have expanded our collaborative partners significantly and we are really looking forward to establishing fruitful working relationships as well as reconnecting with partners from those proposals that were unsuccessful to examine future opportunities work together on Horizon Europe and other funding calls.
Please look out for more news and details on the new projects early in 2021 once the Grant Agreements have been finalised and signed.
