A book co-written by IFIC’s directors and fellow Integrated Care experts has “outperformed” rival publications.
IFIC’s CEO Dr Nick Goodwin and Director of Education and Training Viktoria Stein worked alongside international colleagues to write the ‘Handbook Integrated Care’.
Fellow editors were Volker Amelung, of the Institute for Epidemiology, Social Medicine and Health System Research Medical School Hanover, Germany; Ran Balicer, of the Health Policy Research and Planning Clalit Health Services based in Tel-Aviv, Israel; Ellen Nolte, of the European Observatory of Health Systems and Policies and the London School of Economics and Political Science, London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, UK, and Esther Suter, of Workforce Research & Evaluation Alberta Health Services Calgary, Canada.
In a performance report by publisher Springer, the book “outperformed the discipline average in Business and Management”.
Launched last June, there have been 12,551 chapter downloads of the ebook version in 2017, making it one of the top 25% most downloaded ebooks in its category.
The book is split into four distinct sections, including the conceptual basis of Integrated care; the different management aspects; an analysis of the potential for integrated care in select patient groups and a series of examples from eight health systems.
