Intrinsic Capacities by WHO & EU FrailSafe Webinar will take place on Tuesday, 5 March at 11am (CET)
The H2020 EU FrailSafe funded research & innovation project has joint forces with the WHO Ageing and Life Course Department for a webinar in which you will be able to learn more about an integrated care approach to meet the needs of older persons from the perspective of the WHO ICOPE approach and the EU FrailSafe approach.
WHO targets to reduce the number of older adults who are care dependent by 15million by 2023 (180 million to 165 million), with the Global Strategy and Action plan on Ageing and health. The WHO Integrated Care for Older People (ICOPE) approach has been proposed to support diverse needs of older people, that involves health and social care being integrated. I will introduce the ICOPE guidelines and ICOPE person-centred assessment and pathways in primary care, how to detect declines in physical and mental capacities (Intrinsic Capacity: IC) and to deliver effective interventions to prevent and delay progression, using a people-centred and integrated approach.
