Public Health England launch first Atlas of Variation

Public Health England (PHE) has launched the first Atlas of Variation in palliative and end of life care in England

The move is part of the NHS’ on-going review to ensure people living in all parts of the country have equal access to services according to their need. The Atlas of Variation series has previously been used to highlight variations and act as a springboard for releasing resources for re-investment.

In the full report’s forward, Professor Bee Wee, a Consultant in Palliative Medicine, Sir Michael Sobell House, Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation, Trust and Fellow of Harris Manchester College, University of Oxford, she said the report was a “significant contribution to efforts to improve end of life care for the population”.
