Fiona Lyne
Deputy Chief Executive and Head of Global Partnerships
Biography
Fiona Lyne is Deputy Chief Executive and Head of Global Partnerships at the International Foundation for Integrated Care (IFIC). A founding member, she has played a central role in transforming IFIC from a small start-up into the leading international platform for knowledge, learning, and collaboration on integrated care.
Fiona leads IFIC’s global partnerships and has been instrumental in establishing and developing hubs in Australia, Scotland, Ireland, Canada, and Latin America, creating opportunities for cross-country learning and collaboration. She also oversees IFIC’s flagship International Conference on Integrated Care (ICIC), which travels annually around European cities and has grown from 400 to 1,600 delegates under her leadership, making it the largest event of its kind worldwide.
She has consistently introduced digital innovations to make IFIC’s events more inclusive and accessible, enabling international audiences, including patients and carers, to participate fully.
Prior to joining IFIC, Fiona worked in senior roles in the UK. At The King’s Fund, she restructured the events department into the country’s leading health and care conference provider, quadrupling the surplus generated to the Fund’s Annual Budget. She was responsible for the Fund’s prestigious Annual Conference and Annual Reception and launched the Leadership Summit and the award-winning International Telehealth and Telecare Conference. She also helped lead the Fund’s transition to digital events, winning recognition for innovative live streaming. She sat on the Fund’s Strategic Planning Committee and was a core member of the Fund’s Cross-Fund Integrated Care Programme.
At the Royal Society of Arts (RSA), Fiona managed a series of lectures and the closing conference of the landmark 2020 Public Services Commission, chaired by Sir Andrew Foster and directed by Matthew Taylor.
Earlier, Fiona was Head of Health & Social Care Policy Research at Neil Stewart Associates (NSA), where she delivered national health and social care conferences for government, professional bodies, and charities. She was also a regular contributor to Policy Review Magazine, writing briefings and explainers on health and care legislation. At NSA she was part of Policy Review TV, one of the UK’s first ventures into online policy broadcasting, making her an early pioneer in digital engagement.
Her career began in community development, with roles at Fingal County Council and Galway City Council in Ireland, and the NHS North West London Strategic Health Authority (NELSHA) in the UK, where she supported grassroots empowerment and employment programmes. She also served as Secretariat to the Women in Public Policy (WiPP) network, working with senior MPs including Theresa May and hosting high-profile Westminster events, including one featuring Barack Obama’s campaign team.
Fiona holds an MA in Community Development from the National University of Ireland, Galway, a BA in Politics, Economics & Sociology from the University of Limerick and a Post-graduate Diploma in Management from the Dublin Business School.
She is passionate about creating fairer, more sustainable systems and is particularly committed to community-driven health and care design, where people and communities are active partners in shaping their future.
