Biography

 Helmut is a Senior Associate with the International Foundation for Integrated Care (IFIC) having served at the Executive Board of IFIC for over 12 years. He has gathered more than 40 years of experience in the healthcare arena. Since over 25 years he has consulted nationally and internationally health ministries, provider organisations and health systems in developing Integrated Care and Population Health Management in regional settings. With his company “OptiMedis AG” he went forward into taking over entrepreneurial risks by developing PHM-shared risk agreements with sickness funds/insurances in several regions and establishing “health kiosk” models in vulnerable populations. He holds a pharmacy diploma from Philipps-University in Marburg, Germany, and has worked intensively with the World Health Organisation (Europe), and in health sciences with several universities in Europe, earning a honorary Doctorate (rerum medicinalis) for his impact on policy changes.
