Biography

Kirsty’s journey in the development of integrated care commenced working as district nurse across Greater London and Greater Manchester these experiences ground her understanding that to support populations to be healthy, happy, and prosperous, the very foundations of how health services are viewed, planned, and delivered needed to be revolutionised. From this stance she has worked in a range of transformation and strategic roles locally, regionally, and nationally focusing on the delivery of care that is joined up and integrated. In 2017 she joined the University of Salford where she is now a senior lecturer for integrated care and specialist community nursing practice and continues to teach, present nationally and internationally, and published on a range of integrated care topics and is currently working on the development of post graduate community programmes and increasing research capacity within integrated care setting. She completed her professional doctorate in 2020 researching the experiences of teams adopting neighbourhood working.
