Dr PJ Harnett originally trained as a registered psychiatric nurse (RMN), holds an MSc in Nursing, an MBS in Healthcare management and a PhD. He has substantial clinical, academic, strategic and operational leadership experience. He possesses a background in leadership executive level in hospital and community services and has held national leadership roles.

Dr Harnett has substantial expertise and experience in the design and implementation of integrated care, with expert knowledge in curriculum development, research and teaching in this area. He has many years of experience working with senior clinicians, policy makers, academics and multi-sectoral stakeholders across government, private sector, academia and business.
