As the IFIC liaison to ERIC, Jenna will ensure that the ERIC team is supported in meeting their goals. This includes creating networking opportunities for early-career researchers and professionals; connecting ERIC members to both peer and senior mentors within the IFIC network; identifying opportunities in training, research and internships for ERIC members; and linking ERIC to all of IFICs activities.
Jenna is a junior researcher at IFIC, working on two EU projects – Sustain and TransForm, and is the co-ordinator for the Special Interest Groups (SIGs). She recently completed a Master of Public Health at University College Dublin and had previously worked for eight years as a physiotherapist in South Africa within a large multi-disciplinary team, across multiple healthcare settings.
Jenna co-founded the non-profit wellness centre ‘Phila Sonke’ in Soweto, South Africa, where together with a local GP, community nurses and rehabilitation therapists, a variety of healthcare services are delivered to clients, across the spectrum from prevention to rehabilitation and community reintegration.
