This presentation is part of the International Foundation for Integrated Care’s Webinar Series organized in association with Edgehill University. One of the biggest obstacles to successful implementation of integrated care initiatives is resistance by professionals and patients. Fundamentally changing the monolithic structures of current health and social systems, overcoming sectorial and professional mistrust and administrative barriers or simply getting people to talk to each other, is a time-consuming feat, which is often not adequately addressed and accounted for. Complementing the previous webinar, Dr Robin Miller will present in more detail how a climate for change can be created and how people may be motivated to change, to buy into new ideas and formulate a common vision and narrative. Such an environment that allows for creativity and trust necessitates organisational as well as personal actions.
